What is Intermon Oxfam?
Intermón is a Spanish Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 1956. Since 1997 is part of Oxfam International, a world-wide development, relief and campaigning organisation that works with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering around the world.
Intermon Oxfam co-operate in over 500 development programs in Latin America, Asia and Africa to achieve this aim. They also act in emergency situations, promote fair trade and awareness and social mobilization campaigns.
Why does SALTO collaborate with Oxfam?
Oxfam is an international organisation, one of the largest independent NGOs in the world. That´s why SALTO Systems has chosen it as an organisation to collaborate with, because of its international nature. SALTO Systems, like Oxfam, is as international known company.

In which projects does SALTO collaborate?
Intermon Oxfam is using contributions from Salto Systems´s to fund one of its projects in Nicaragua. The project aims to contribute to the food safety and strengthening of the social fabric of families in Jinotega and El Cuá rural municipalities. This project is part of the “Nicaragua Posible” programme by means of which they want to promote citizenship participation and gender equality, training leaders and promoting feminine representation in the municipal organizations, as well as increase their literacy levels, legal and psychological defense.
They are also trying to promote the strengthening of the families´ food safety by means of the access to land and water, and supporting the productive development and infrastructures creation for different activities such as coffee cultivation, cattle management, irrigation systems and care of the environment.
On the other hand, the improvement, the incomes and the marketing capacities are promoted, as well as, the reduction of the vulnerability before natural catastrophes and the fight against domestic violence. Furthermore, they try to reduce the foreign debt and support politics of rural development by means of political incident. The water law project, the rural development strategy and the Republic budget are also priorities for them.
